  • Neymar is set to make his third World Cup appearance for Brazil and the Paris Saint-Germain forward has been predicted to shine
  • Brazil are seeking to win the World Cup for the first time since they emerged as winners in 2002 when they defeated Germany in the final
  • Brazil has been grouped alongside Serbia, Switzerland, and Cameroon in Group G and will kickstart their World Cup campaign on November 24

Neymar has been tipped to have a great World Cup tournament with Brazil following the Paris Saint-Germain forward’s brilliant form heading into Qatar 2022.

The 30-year-old heads into his 3rd World Cup tournament with Brazil as one of the supertars expected to shine and lead their nation to the trophy in Qatar.

According to PSG Talk, French football pundit Nabil Djellit believes Neymar can achieve a great World Cup, in particular, thanks to a better Brazilian squad than in previous tournaments.

“I think he is better surrounded than his previous World Cups with Brazil. In 2014, we remember that he carried Brazil in an incredible way.
“And there, I find that he has returned to an absolutely stratospheric level. He also chases records. I think he will pass in front of Pelé, especially in the number of goals. For me, it could simply be Neymar’s year.”

Given that it will disprove any claims that no team can win with the PSG forward, Neymar winning the tournament and ending Brazil's drought would do a lot for his legacy.

Neymar names two favourite England players

Meanwhile, Neymar has named Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho as one of his two favourite English footballers, Daily Post reports.

Kane will lead the Three Lions at the 2022 World Cup, but Sancho was not chosen by Gareth Southgate.

The winger's final appearance for England came in a five-goal triumph against Andorra in a World Cup qualifying game back in October 2021.

Neymar plays mind games with Messi

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Neymar has disclosed that he and Paris Saint-Germain teammate Lionel Messi make light of a prospective Brazil-Argentina World Cup final that could take place in Qatar.

Both players will put friendship aside at the 2022 FIFA World Cup as they will both lead their respective nations Brazil and Argentina for football’s most prestigious trophy in Qatar.

Neymar has now revealed jokingly that he fancies his Brazil side's chances in a potential match-up with Messi's Argentina.
