Barcelona president Joan Laporta has often said that Messi is always welcome back. Laporta even admitted that Messi leaving was his fault, and he was determined to bring the superstar back, Tribuna reported.

The player himself has requested that all contract negotiations be put on hold until the tournament is over.

Messi endured a tough first season in France but is starting to show once again why he’s one of the greatest of all time. Messi has played 53 games for the Ligue 1 champions, scoring 23 goals and notching up 29 assists.

He’s been in incredible form for his club and will be hoping to channel that in Qatar for his country.
