Eden Hazard has lowered Belgium’s expectations going into the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as the Real Madrid winger does not see his home nation as one of the favourites for the title.
The 31-year-old admitted there are better teams more prepared for the tournament in Qatar than Belgium, adding that injuries have affected Roberto Martinez’s team.
According to The Sports Review, Hazard believes Brazil, Argentina and France have better squads than Belgium at the moment, and therefore are the favourites to win the World Cup.
Hazard has struggled with injuries in recent months and has only played 98 minutes of league football for Real Madrid so far this season.

Belgium are in Group F and will clash with Canada, Croatia and Morocco in the group stages of the World Cup.
Hazard doesn't deserve to start
Meanwhile, Hazard has revealed he does not deserve a starting shirt in Belgium’s team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, based on his performances in the last two seasons, Daily Mail reports.
The Real Madrid forward acknowledged that he has struggled for minutes in the Spanish capital, but insists his achievements of the last 15 years have given him enough credit in the bank for Belgium.
The Belgian skipper joined Los Blancos in 2019, but due to a string of injuries in the Spanish capital, he has only played in 72 games in more than three years.
