Cristiano Ronaldo's sister Elma Aveiro has expressed immediate support for his brother after the explosive interview with popular broadcaster Piers Morgan

Ronaldo accused the club of betraying him as forces inside the club were trying to force him out, according to the BBC.

He also aimed jibes at United icon Wayne Rooney who had slammed his behavior at the club last week, and Ronaldo was unforgiving in his response. He said Rooney was jealous of his longevity.

Fans were livid after he said he does not respect the manager Erik ten Hag, who he fell out with last month after refusing to come on as a sub.

Aveiro supports Ronaldo

His sister Elma Aveiro couldn't be prouder of his brother. She posted a series of Instagram stories showing unwavering support for his brother, according to the Sun.

Aveiro shared a quote from Ronaldo's interview, which read:

"I am not silent about doors that I will hardly open again out of pride, but more out of respect for myself."

In her second story, she posted a photo of Ronaldo sitting with Morgan and captioned it:

"I will always be proud of you my dear."

Aveiro added a snippet of the interview on her third story, expressing her admiration for the 37-year-old.

"Biggest pride of my life."

However, some fans on social media expressed their support for Ronaldo's comments about the lack of progress at the club since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.

Aveiro blasts Ten Hag

Sports Brief earlier reported on Ronaldo's sister lashing out at Erik ten Hag for substituting him against Newcastle United last month.

Ronaldo was visibly upset with the decision as he walked to the bench to be replaced by Marcus Rashford at the 70th-minute mark.

The Euro 2016 winner has been restricted to appearances from the bench this season by Ten Hag.
