There was more drama in the CAF Confederations Cup play-off tie between Royal AM and TP Mazembe.

The team from the Democratic Republic of the Congo defeated their South African hosts 1-0 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban to complete a 3-0 aggregate whitewash.

The Citizen reported that during the match, the Central Africans' passports and other valuables were stolen inside the venue while the match was underway. The team is now stuck in the city as it tries to make a plan on getting out of the country.

The publication's source said:

“They are still here at the [Sibaya] lodge; they are very angry because they were supposed to leave today (Thursday). You can see the frustrations on their faces and the anger, because they don’t believe something like this happened to them, especially at the stadium."

According to the source, there were allegedly no cameras at the stadium. The Central Africans even claimed the theft was planned by their opponents as revenge for alleged mistreatment they suffered in the DRC.

"Right now, the players had their breakfast this morning as they wait to hear what’s going to happen, because it will be impossible for them to travel without their documents.”

A week ago, the Daily Sun reported that Royal AM owner Shauwn Mkhize was furious about the ill-team her team received while out in Lubumbashi for the first leg.

Some rather sensational allegations have emerged in the wake of the MTN8 final last Saturday in Durban, Sports Brief has reported.

Unnamed personnel from Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu got into a heated confrontation in the bowels of the Moses Mabhida Stadium. It is alleged - without proof or second-hand information - that muthi was at the centre of the fight.

In April, just before a CAF Confederations Cup match at Orlando Stadium against Pirates, Simba SC players were seen burning an unknown object in the centre circle before a match.
