A football official Auwalu Jada has been suspended from all football-related activities by the Nigeria Football Federation.

Auwalu was seen in a viral clip boasting to a set of local players about how he manipulated some high-profile matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

NFF announced the IMC member's suspension and assured that investigations are underway to unravel the alleged match-fixing claims.

The NFF general secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, said in a statement via Channels TV:

“Auwalu Baba Jada has been suspended from all football-related activities pending investigations into the video recording in which he is apparently the principal character. "
"The investigations will be conducted by the ethics and integrity units of the Nigeria Football Federation."
“Auwalu Baba Jada will have no role in any football activity, event or programme until the investigations are concluded, and this also means he is summarily suspended from his membership of the Interim Management Committee of the Nigeria Professional Football League."

Remo Stars caught in suspected match-fixing

Meanwhile, video clips made the rounds on social media, showing the moment Remo Stars players engaged in suspected match-fixing activities.

Commentators on social media have alleged that a player decided to take a bizarre kick - meaning could mean the match was fixed.

Players were spotted deliberately missing the penalty kicks during a shootout in the Ogun state FA Cup final against Ijebu United.

Lobi Stars storm government house to protest unpaid salaries

Sports Brief earlier reported that some staff and coaches of the NPFL side, Lobi Stars stormed the Government House in Makurdi in Benue State to demand their unpaid salaries.

The protest was staged peacefully as the coaches and staff pleaded with the governor to compel Dominic Iorfa into paying them their six-month salaries.

The group had earlier staged a similar protest at the Benue State House of Assembly, where they were received by the Chairman House Committee on Sports, Thomas Kwagh-Kudi on behalf of the Speaker, Titus Uba.
