Cunha took to his Instagram stories to express his feelings after Tite had announced his squad. The striker shared a video of himself looking distraught as he looked away from the camera and said:
"To everyone who keeps sending me messages, thank you. It was hard and painful, but that's part of it. Our selection is spectacular and the competition is very great. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and we will be cheering you on," as translated by Sport Bible.
