  • Rodrygo Goes and his family broke down in tears after he was named in Brazil's final squad for the World Cup
  • The Real Madrid forward will be making his first appearance at the tournament in Qatar later this month
  • Rodrygo has been in good form for the Brazilians under coach Tite and he is expected to star at the World Cup

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes shared a heartwarming moment with his family after he was named in Brazil's final squad for the World Cup.

The 21-year-old was included in Tite's 26-man roster on Monday for the upcoming tournament after convincing Brazil's coach with his performances in England's topflight league.

In a video posted on social media, the younger striker and his family were monitoring the announcement on TV when the forward's name was mentioned.

Competition to make the cut is at an all-time high, with the likes of Gabriel Magalhaes and Roberto Firmino snubbed, thus it's clear to see why it means so much to those selected.

Brazil have been drawn in Group G alongside Switzerland, Serbia and Cameroon.

Madrid fans demand new striker

Sports Brief earlier reported that some fans of reigning LaLiga champions Real Madrid are fuming at Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes following his abysmal display in their 3-2 defeat at Rayo Vallecano.

The 21-year-old lacked the clinical instinct in his game on Monday night, missing a number of great opportunities to win the game for Los Blancos.

The worst was reserved for the last, as the youngster missed a glorious chance in the dying embers of the game to pull parity for Real Madrid.

Brazil name final 26-man squad for 2022 World Cup

Liverpool's Roberto Firmino was left off the list Monday as Brazil coach Tite named his World Cup squad, seeking a sixth title with a team led by Neymar and 39-year-old veteran Dani Alves.

Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain veteran Alves, who signed with Mexican side Pumas in July, made the team despite the fact he has not played a match in two months.

The oldest player ever named to a Brazilian World Cup squad, he will be participating in his third edition of the tournament.
