Ahead of an international friendly against Costa Rica, the home-based Super Eagles have departed Nigeria for the United States.
While Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Costa Rica will play at the global showpiece, having been drawn in Group E alongside Spain, Japan and Germany.
The North Americans will take on Nigeria on Thursday in an international friendly as they continue to prepare for the World Cup.
It was gathered that Nigeria would field home-based players for the encounter amid reports that their foreign-based colleagues would be on duty at their respective clubs.

And now the players have left the shores of Nigeria and headed for San Jose, where the encounter will occur.
Pulse Sports reports that 18 players have been invited to the game by assistant Super Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf.
The game is one of the two international friendly encounters the three-time African champions have this month.
Following the game against Costa Rica, the Super Eagles will face the Portuguese national team in Lisbon on November 17.
However, the foreign-based players are expected to be available for the game, with Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro expected to name his squad this week.
It will be the very first time both countries will meet at an international level as Peseiro faces his country of birth.

FootballMeanwhile, Sports Brief earlier reported that Costa Rica's coach Luis Suarez has released a 26-man squad for the encounter slated for November 10.
Experienced goalkeeper Keylor Navas was included in the team along with former Arsenal striker Joel Campbell, as well as defender Oscar Duarte.
Many players who helped the team reach the quarter-final of the 2018 World Cup in Russia were also included.
