Müller broke out the French as he greeted the Ligue 1 leaders, saying that it was two very good teams with very good players and sadly, one team wouldn’t progress further.

He also added that he had a lot of respect for the Parisian outfit and that he was looking forward to the clash next year.

The first legs of the Round of 16 are due to take place on February 14 and 15, 2023.

Muller taunted Lewandowski and Barcelona

Muller had embarked on his customary taunting of Barcelona, ahead of Bayern Munich's penultimate Champions League group game against the Catalan giants on October 26.

Muller's Bayern Munich crossed swords with Barcelona in a make-or-break tie for the La Liga side, who were in a precarious position, Sports Brief reported.

At the time, Barcelona were on the verge of back-to-back Champions League group stage eliminations.

Muller tells Lewandowski 'get ready'

Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller fired a warning shot at his former teammate Robert Lewandowski, after the UEFA Champions League draw on August 24, Sports Brief reported.

The group stage draw for this season’s tournament took place in Istanbul, Turkey.

The UCL draw saw the Bavarians pitted against Barcelona, which meant the reigning German champions were reunited with Robert Lewandowski following his move to Nou Camp earlier this summer.
