The Argentina Cup final became a spectacle on Sunday after 10 players were sent off by the centre referee, during the course of the game between Racing Club and Boca Juniors.

Racing Club were crowned champions of Argentina's Champions Trophy after they defeated Boca Juniors 2-1 in extra time, but referee Facundo Tello was the highlight of the show.

According to Bein Sports, the game exploded to life in the fifth minute of stoppage time with Sebastian Villa of Boca and Johan Carbonero of Racing both seeing red.

The home side had another six players sent off in the ensuing extra time period, after Racing Club midfielder Carlos Alcaraz sparked a melee in front of the Boca Juniors fans with his match winning goal.

Luis Advincula, Carlos Zambrano, Diego Gonzalez and Dario Benedetto were all shown straight reds by World Cup bound referee Facundo Tello while two additional players left the field having received a second yellow.

Racing Club also had two extra players sent off on straight reds as match winner, Carlos Alcaraz and Catriel Cabellos were both given their marching orders before the end of the game.

Racing Club wins Argentina Cup

Meanwhile, Boca Juniors suffered a shock defeat in the Argentina Cup final to rivals Racing Club, with the game witnessing a spectacle of red cards, Daily Mail reports.

Norberto Briasco's 19th-minute opener for Boca was cancelled out by Racing club's Matias Rojas three minutes later. Neither side could find a winner in 90 minutes, prompting a lengthy period of extra time.

Carlos Alcaraz grabbed the winner for Racing Club however, with a glancing header just five minutes from the end of the game to hand Racing the title.

One dead in Argentina unrest

Earlier, Sports Brief reported one person died following violence that started outside a soccer match on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, before spilling into the stadium and onto the pitch.

Police fired rubber bullets and tear gas, as they attempted to stop fans attending the match between top flight teams Boca Juniors and Gimnasia Esgrima from pushing into the already crowded venue.

The unrest outside the Carmelo Zerillo Stadium in La Plata continued inside, where shocked spectators were seen squeezing through fencing to escape the violence and get onto the field.
