PSG expect Messi to be back for their final game before the World Cup against Auxerre in a week’s time; however, the Argentinian was hoping not to play that game.

Messi’s fear of injuries:

Like many other players, Messi does not want to get injured this close to a global tournament. He recently admitted that he was worried about picking up an injury, as he saw it happen to Paulo Dybala and Angel di Maria.

"Injuries are a worry. This is a different World Cup which is played at a different time of the year to previous tournaments, and any little thing that happens can force you out. With what happened to Dybala and Di Maria, the truth is that personally, you worry, and you’re more afraid when you see those sorts of things,” he said.

Messi’s last World Cup appearance?

ESPN Africa reported that the Qatar World Cup would be Messi’s last. The tournament is Messi’s fifth, and he is desperate to win his first world title. Argentina last won the World Cup in 1986 when Diego Maradona was at his best.
