Zlatan Ibrahimovic has blasted Kylian Mbappe for trying to be bigger than Paris Saint-Germain, after eye-watering details of his new huge contract were leaked.

Mbappe signed a mega 3-year deal with the French champions this summer, snubbing an initial verbal agreement with Real Madrid for a potential deal.

It was widely reported last month that the Frenchman feels betrayed by the top brass of PSG, for failing to fulfill the promises made to him before inking his new deal .

Now PSG legend Ibrahimovic has slammed Mbappe after the French star signed his new contract at Parc des Princes.

"Kylian Mbappé did not make the right choice for him, but for PSG yes," the ex-Sweden international told French publication Canal Plus via Marca.

Ibrahimovic stated that Mbappe had put himself in a situation where he was bigger than the club after PSG 'gave him the keys' to believe so, but the AC Milan striker says no player is bigger than their club.

"There is a reason why Zidane is Zidane. Mbappe wants to imitate him? That he starts to want to progress. Not to be satisfied."

Mbappe is Ligue 1's highest scorer this season with 11 goals, playing as the pivot of PSG’s attacking trio including Neymar and Lionel Messi.

Mbappe bests Messi's UCL record

Meanwhile, Mbappe has put himself in the history books of the UEFA Champions League by becoming the youngest player to score 40 goals in the competition’s history.

The 23-year-old scored once as Paris Saint-Germain defeated Juventus 2-1 at the Allianz Stadium, to take his tally to 7 goals in the competition this season.

According to Football Spike, Mbappe has now surpassed Lionel Messi’s record as the youngest player to reach the tally of 40 goals.

Zlatan Ibrahimović slams Ligue 1

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimović claims his absence in Ligue 1 has created a void in the French top flight, despite the presence of Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Ibrahimović spent four seasons with Paris Saint-Germain from 2012 and 2016, scoring a staggering 113 goals in 122 appearances.

His eccentric character, both on and off the field, ensured he hogged the headlines on a regular basis throughout his stint in France.
