The Italian veteran has now amassed 103 victories in Europe's top-tier club competition, surpassing the record set by Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson, per ESPN.

Ferguson set the record almost ten years ago, when his Old Trafford outfit recorded an away victory over Braga in November 2012.

Madrid's win against Celtic saw the European champions cement their place on top of Group H, one point ahead of RB Leipzig, who demolished Shakhtar Donetsk 4-0.

Ancelotti has already etched his name in the Champions League history book as the only man to have won the tournament four times.

He clinched the title twice with AC Milan in 2003 and 2007, and then for Real Madrid on two occasions as well - in 2014 and 2022.

Carlo Ancelotti makes another record

Meanwhile, Ancelotti achieved another historic milestone after becoming the first manager to successfully coach four different Ballon d'Or winners, as reported by Sports Brief.

Karim Benzema became the fourth player that Ancelotti has managed during a Ballon d'Or winning season.

The Italian manager has a knack for guiding players to the levels of competing and winning the coveted international accolade.

Carlo Ancelotti disagrees with Courtois

Sports Brief earlier reported that Carlo Ancelotti has offered a contrasting opinion to Thibaut Courtois' reason for why Real Madrid suffered their first defeat of the season.

Real Madrid had a dent in their unblemished run since the start of the campaign, with Bundesliga side RB Leipzig securing a 3-2 victory over Ancelotti's side.

Assessing the performance of Madrid, goalkeeper Courtois was critical of his side's performance in their penultimate Champions League game at the Red Bull Arena on Tuesday night.
