15th goal of the calendar year

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner had been denied severally by Sheriff's goalkeeper Maksym Koval and once by the offside rule. But in the 80th minute, the Portuguese rose highest to send a bullet header which Koval saved.

Ronaldo, however, reacted quickly to tap in the round. By doing so, as MEN reports, Ronaldo scored his fifteenth goal of this calendar year. This now extends Ronaldo's record of scoring 15 or more goals every calendar year to 18 years.

He recently also became the first person to score 700 club career goals.

Ronaldo ditches the' Siuu' celebration again

Sports Brief has also reported that football fans across the world went into a frenzy over Cristiano Ronaldo’s newfound goal celebration, which could signify the end of the iconic ‘Siu’.

After a turbulent week for the Portuguese superstar, he was reintegrated back into Manchester United’s squad to face Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League. United ran out 3-0 winners on the night, with Ronaldo finding his goal nine minutes from time.

Prior to his goal, it was proving to be a frustrating night for the Real Madrid legend, who saw several of his opportunities to score missed.
