Football fans across the world went into a frenzy over Cristiano Ronaldo’s newfound goal celebration, which could signify the end of the iconic ‘Siu’.
After a turbulent week for the Portuguese superstar, he was reintegrated back into Manchester United’s squad to face Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League.
United ran out 3-0 winners on the night, with Ronaldo finding his goal nine minutes from time.
Prior to his goal, it was proving to be a frustrating night for the Real Madrid legend, who saw several of his opportunities to score missed.

He found the net early in the second half, but his goal was chopped off for offside, leading him to kick the ball into the fans in frustration and earning himself a yellow card.
As reported on BBC, Ronaldo’s persistence eventually paid off as he scored a rebound from his own header, which was initially saved by the Sheriff goalkeeper.
After the goal, he ran down the corner flag at Old Trafford in the midst of a roaring crowd, who expected him to perform his famous ‘Siu’ goal celebration.
Instead, however, he resorted to his new ‘sleeping’ celebration, the same one he performed after scoring against Everton.
Fans instantly took to social media to hail Ronaldo, not for his goal, but for his celebration, which has already caused ripples across the world.

This was Ronaldo’s third goal this season across all competitions, and he will be hoping to continue to keep the faith of his manager going forward.

Elsewhere, Sports Brief also highlighted Ronaldo’s reaction to Alejandro Garnacho’s masterclass against Sheriff.
Erik ten Hag put the teenager in his starting XI against Sheriff Tiraspol at Old Trafford. Garnacho was deployed on the left-hand side of United's attack.
At full-time, Ronaldo hugged him and seemingly shared a few words of encouragement. Garnacho has in the past mentioned that Ronaldo is his football idol.
