Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger has been spotted with a Terminator-like red eye ahead of his side's Champions League tie against RB Leipzig.

Rudiger sustained a gory head injury as he rescued Los Blancos from suffering their first defeat of the season with a last-minute header in their game against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Madrid secured early qualification to the last 16 of the Champions League via Rudiger's brave header.

The Germany international needed a reported 20 stitches after the unfortunate incident but has since braved the odds and featured in subsequent games for the La Liga champions, as noted by the Sun.

Prior to his side's penultimate Champions League match at Leipzig, Rudiger was on pre-match interview duties with coach Carlo Ancelotti as they answered questions from the press.

However, Rudiger's eye is making the rounds on the internet. In a photo posted on Twitter, seen by Sports Brief, the former Chelsea guardsman spotted a red eye with stitches visible on the left side of his face.

Having secured qualification to the next phase of the competition, Carlo Ancelotti could hand Rudiger another start in Europe's premier club tournament.

Since trading Chelsea for Real Madrid in the summer, the 29-year-old defender has racked up 11 appearances across all competitions while scoring a goal in the process.

Rudiger to wear mask after head injury

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Real Madrid have been handed a huge injury boost ahead of their game against Barcelona.

The La Liga champions will be able to call upon German defender Antonio Rudiger for the first El Clasico of the season.

Rudiger was a doubt for the big game after suffering a nasty blow in the UEFA Champions League game between Shakhtar Donetsk and Madrid.
