A former Minister for Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, has announced the passage of his son Nehemiah at the age of 33.
In an emotional statement on his Facebook Page, the heartbroken Dalung disclosed that there were no words to express the deep pain and sorrow.
This came barely 24 hours after the lawyer shared a photo of his son, who lay critically on a hospital bed, as he urged his followers and well-wishers to join him in prayers.
However, on Monday, October 24, the Plateau State-born politician announced that Nehemiah eventually passed away, although details of the cause were not disclosed.

He wrote:
“Although Nehemiah's life ended before we were ready, the time Nehemiah spent in our lives was memorable. Nehemiah Dalung was 33 years old. He was the son of former Sports & Youth Minister, Solomon Dalung."
“There are no words to express the deep pain and sorrow of losing one's son at his prime age, but we take consolation in God who gives and takes."
“May his soul rest in peace.”
Dalung was Nigeria’s Minister for Youth and Sports Development between November 2015 and May 2019, having been appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari during the first tenure of his administration.
And Nigerians have continued to send condolence messages to the 58-year-old. One wrote:
“So sad please accept my deepest condolences may his gentle soul continue to rest in peace with the Lord and may God almighty grant the family the fortitude to bear this in replaceable loss Amen.”

Sports Brief earlier reported that Italian Serie A side Torino mourned the death of their former striker Akeem Omolade who was found lifeless in his car as the tragic incident comes days after he complained of leg pains.
The Nigerian star passed away at the age of 39 as he was said to have featured for Torino and played in the Serie A between 2001 and 2003.
Italian services discovered him lifeless in a Peugeot in the Sicilian capital Palermo, prompting mourning across Italian football.
