New reports have now indicated that Neymar was ready to accept a loan move to Chelsea in the summer.

Neymar was the subject of intense transfer discussions at the height of a rumoured fallout between himself and Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe had reportedly demanded that Neymar leave the club. While the French star denied those reports, Neymar reportedly vowed to stay put.

According to the Sun via Sky Sports however, the Brazilian was willing to reunite with his former coach at Paris Saint-Germain, Thomas Tuchel.

Chelsea were reportedly interested in the winger but did not pursue the transfer wholeheartedly. The club's new chairman Todd Boehly had bought in Raheem Sterling and later on, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as attacking reinforcements.

Newcastle reportedly reached PSG's valuation fee, but Neymar was not convinced about moving to Tyneside.

The Magpies are currently the richest club in the world, but it will take time before they can convince big hitters to join them. They ended up signing Alexander Isak, according to Sky Sports.
