Potter, who remains unbeaten since taking at Stamford Bridge, could settle on a back three of Marc Cucurella, Thiago Silva, and Trevoh Chalobah as Kepa starts in between the sticks.

Skipper Cesar Azpilicueta could be deployed on the right to take the place of James, with Ben Chilwell keeping his place on the left.

Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho are in line to start in the middle of the park, with Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic joining Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the attack.

Predicted line up vs Aston Villa

Chelsea form under Potter

Chelsea remain undefeated across competitions since the arrival of Potter, with the Englishman leading the west Londoners to four wins from five outings.

The Stamford Bridge-based outfit are currently placed fourth on the Premier League standings with 16 points, eight off league leaders Arsenal.

A win at Villa Park will see them close the gap on third-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who stunned Everton 2-0 on Saturday.

Goals from Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg were enough to see off Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
