Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has disclosed his excitement when Barcelona cross swords with bitterest rivals Real Madrid, the biggest fixture on the Spanish football calendar and by extension Europe.
Xavi has endured a difficult past few weeks as boss of the Blaugrana with his side on the cusp of back-to-back Champions League group-stage exits.
Barca's sub-par performance in Europe is in sharp contrast to that of their form domestically, with Xavi's charges sitting on top of La Liga, having scored a staggering 20 goals and conceding just once in eight games.
His domestic supremacy will face the biggest acid test in the El Clasico on Sunday, October 16 when Barcelona renew their longstanding rivalry with Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, as noted by ESPN.
