If Barca were to suffer a crushing defeat in El Clasico as well, Xavi’s job would definitely come under more scrutiny. One name who wouldn’t be in line to replace the Barcelona legend is former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola.

Podcaster Joan Fontes recently noted Guardiola would not fancy returning to the Spanish side, Barca Universal reported.

Guardiola’s contract with Manchester City expires at the end of the season, but the former Barcelona player and coach has no plans to return to Spain. This is despite the fact that he has a good relationship with Laporta.

As noted by Transfermarkt, Guardiola was in charge of the Blaugrana from 2008 to 2012 and oversaw 247 games as coach. Barcelona won 179 of those games and only lost 21. The Catalan giants also won two Champions League titles and three La Liga titles during that time.

Unhappy Barcelona fans demand the appointment of Thomas Tuchel to replace Xavi

Following Barcelona's disappointing draw against Inter Milan, some fans of the Catalan club are calling for the sack of manager Xavi Hernandez, Sports Brief earlier reported.

Xavi's Barcelona are enduring a torrid run in Europe despite their blistering performance in LaLiga.

The Blaugrana played out to a 3-3 draw against the Italian giants in a must-win UEFA Champions League clash at Spotify Camp Nou on Wednesday night.
