On 7 November 2017, the goalkeeper tweeted de Gea a message that read:

"Happy birthday my idol. Am coming after you tho."

After the display shown on Thursday, Uzoho will surely have left a lasting impression on his ‘idol’ de Gea, who did not have a night as busy as the Nigerian.

Even Ronaldo was left impressed by his heroics - he pointed it out at some point during the game as the pair laughed about it.

Speaking after the game, Uzoho was simply grateful for the chance to play at Old Trafford.

"I have dreamed to play here for a long time," he said. "When I saw the draw, I wanted to play at Old Trafford and I thank God for giving me the opportunity to play," he told BT Sport.

Sports Brief also earlier reported of Uzoho’s humbling sentiments after the game, as he remained optimistic despite defeat.

He heaped praise on his teammates, who produced a defiant defensive performance against Man United.

"I'm not disappointed because we had a good game. I would prefer to get at least a point, but I'm happy. It is not an easy stadium to play in with these big players, so I'm happy in general," he was quoted as saying.
