- Forlorn Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezana appears to be on the road to winning back the goodwill of the club's supporters
- Ngezana had an impressive return to the starting lineup this past Sunday as the Amakhosi defeated Stellenbosch FC in Cape Town
- He found himself in the wilderness following a dreadful performance against Mamelodi Sundowns back in August
Siyabonga Ngezana appears to be proving that the adage 'you can't keep a good man down' is accurate.
The Kaizer Chiefs defender made a triumphant return to the starting lineup last Sunday, playing an important role as the Amakhosi defeated Stellenbosch FC 3-1 in an entertaining DStv Premiership encounter at the Cape Town Stadium.
This has thrilled his coach Arthur Zwane, who said to the Daily Sun:
"Siya is a top player for me. Yes, football is a game of mistakes and unfortunately for him, he made a couple of mistakes in a category-A game against Sundowns, and after that match, he just wasn't himself."

"But as coaches, we had to work very hard on him. We had to rebuild his confidence because we know that he is a top player and there is no doubt about that. That is why he was able to produce a solid performance against Stellies and he showed great character."
In the encounter against the Maroons, Caleb Bimenyimana made history by becoming the first player in Premier Soccer League history to score a hat-trick of penalties, as per IOL.
Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane defends Siyabonga Ngezana following the nightmare against Mamelodi Sundowns
Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezana is not the most popular player in the team right now.
He had a shocker in August at Loftus Versfeld in the Amakhosi's humiliating 4-0 loss to the opportunistic defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns, as reported by Sports Brief. He was at fault for The Brazilians' first two goals within 20 minutes of the start that floored Chiefs before the team could settle.
Social media was decidedly anti-Ngezana after his horror showing, but some stood up for him and hoped he could dust himself off and try again.
