  • Serie A giants Juventus have maintained that Head Coach Massimiliano Allegri will be given time to turn around the poor results
  • Should Allegri fail to do so, Juventus might be forced to take the costly route of sacking him in an attempt to salvage their season
  • Former Paris Saint-Germain head coaches Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino are some of the leading candidates for the job

Juventus President Andrea Agnelli might have reiterated that Massimiliano Allegri's job as head coach is safe, but he also knows that something has to give soon.

The Old Lady are enduring a very difficult start to the campaign and have fallen behind in every competition.

According to the Daily Mail, sacking Allegri might be costly for Juventus, but the 55-year-old will have to leave if push comes to shove. Sports Brief takes a look at the top managers who Juventus could go for.

1. Thomas Tuchel

After recently turning down an opportunity to join Bayer Leverkusen, rumour is rife that the former Chelsea manager is holding out for a 'top' European club.

2. Mauricio Pochettino

Pochettino's name was floated when Tuchel was sacked by Chelsea, but the London club settled on Graham Potter instead. Still jobless after the Paris Saint-Germain job, the Argentine would love to get back to management.

3. Antonio Conte

A former manager of Juventus himself, he is currently with a job unlike the first two. Conte dismissed reports of a Juventus return, but he might reconsider, with Spurs fumbling in recent weeks after a fine start to the campaign.

4. Zinedine Zidane

A legend of sorts in Turin. Zidane is said to be not interested in managing a club anytime soon and is holding out for Didier Deschamps's Les Bleus job. It will take a lot of convincing power to land the three-time Champions League winner as a coach.

5. Roberto Mancini

A Euro winner with Italy, Mancini might be inclined to return to club management after his recent failure to lead Azzuri to the World Cup. With an English Premier League title also on his CV, he might just be the person to turn around Juve's fortunes.

But for now, Allegri still has another chance to dig himself out of the mess.

Sports Brief has also reported that Allegri has appeared to absolve himself of any wrongdoing for the problems bedevilling his side at the moment.

Allegri has instead transferred the blame to his players as Juventus's poor start to the season continued.

The Italian giants recorded their worst result this season when they went down 2-0 to Israeli champions Maccabi Haifa on October 11.
