Gabriel Martinelli wants his Arsenal salary tripled

While Arsenal are desperate to secure his future, reports suggest the youngster has shocked the club's hierarchy with his demands.

The Daily Mail claims the 21-year-old wants his wages tripled before he can commit his future to the north Londoners.

The publication adds that Martinelli is currently earning wages in the region of £70,000-per-week, meaning Arsenal will have to more than double his current salary to convince him to stay.

Such a move will see the forward become one of the club's top earners, joining the likes of Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard, who are currently the best-paid players at the Emirates Stadium.

Chelsea interested in Gabriel Martinelli

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Chelsea's rumoured interest in signing Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal.

While Arsenal chiefs are believed to be keen to tie him down to a new contract, they may face significant competition, with Chelsea said to be keen on his services.

The Blues are keen to further bolster their attack after losing Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku in the summer.
