Carlo Ancelotti has expressed worry over Real Madrid’s poor defensive record this season as the Italian gaffer was questioned by the press ahead of Los Blancos’ game against Getafe.

The Spanish champions have conceded a massive 11 goals in 7 La Liga games, thereby failing to keep a clean sheet in all their league fixtures in the 2022/23 campaign.

According to Football Espana, Ancelotti has now rallied on his Real Madrid players to always stay focused as he outlined the relevance of having a very solid defensive set-up.

“The defensive aspect is very important in this team and it has been the key to success and where we have to be more focused. For that reason, the commitment of everyone will be important.
“Sometimes we have to defend better. That is the thinking of the team. What we have to do is to defend better.”

Real Madrid will be seeking to keep their first clean sheet of the campaign when they play away to Getafe in Matchday 8 of La Liga on Saturday, October 8.

Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti is confident German midfielder, Toni Kroos will sign a new contract with Real Madrid and not retire from football as widely speculated, Tribal Football reports.
