Nigerian international Zaidu Sanusi, who was on the score sheet as FC Porto defeated Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League, has been offered a contract extension.
The 25-year-old has signed a fresh 5-year-deal with the Portuguese outfit, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2027.
According to the club, four players have been rewarded for their impressive display with new contracts, including Joao Mario and the Brazilian duo of Evanilson and Pepe.
Sanusi joined the club in the summer of 2020, and the Nigerian expressed delight to remain at the club. He said on the club's website:

“I am very happy to have renewed my contract with FC Porto until 2027. It is very important for me.
"I hope to score many more goals and celebrate even more victories here.”
The club confirmed the respective contract extensions in a statement:
"There was p0ker for renewals at FC Porto this Friday: João Mário, Zaidu, Pepê and Evanilson signed new contracts with the club and extended their respective connections until 2027.
"As it could not be otherwise, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa was the element in common in the four renewals and announced that more could follow, but always “within FC Porto's possibilities.”
In May, Sanusi scored the only goal in the 93rd minute of Portugal's hallowed O Classico against Benfica, helping the club to seal their 30th league title.

Meanwhile, Sports Brief earlier reported that Real Madrid are not prepared to let go of Karim Benzema anytime soon and are set to extend the contract of the French forward for another two seasons.
Benzema guided the Spanish giants to the La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles last season, finishing as the top scorer in both competitions.
The Frenchman, who scored a total of 44 goals and 15 assists in just 46 matches last season, has struggled to hit his best form so far in the 2022/23 campaign.
