Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi has become only the second player Portugal legend Paulo Futre has ever asked for an autograph.
The Argentine captain scored a sensational goal in his side's 1-1 draw at Benfica in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday evening.
Messi's superlative performance caught the eyes of Futre, who was on television duty as a pundit for the Group H encounter at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.
According to the former Atletico Madrid star, he had a mission of asking for an autograph from the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner – which he has only done once before from Diego Maradona.

He managed to achieve his wish when he got Messi to sign his Atleti jersey with his name on the back, before giving him a massive hug.
Futre wrote on Twitter:
"Diego Maradona was the only player I asked for an autograph for myself. It was when we shared a team in the 1987 World Team. Today, I have asked Lionel Messi for the second."
As noted by the Mirror, Messi set a new Champions League record last night to move further ahead of his rival Cristiano Ronaldo.
Messi’s goal against Benfica took him clear of the Manchester United forward in terms of opponents scored against in the Champions League.
