The more one watches Justin Shonga's moment of magic earlier this year, the more one's jaw drops in awe.

The Zambian international, playing for Sekhukhune United, scored through a bicycle kick in a DStv Premiership match last season against Stellenbosch FC. Taking place last April, the encounter in the Cape Winelands ended in a 1-1 draw.

Though the goal was nominated for the goal of the month, not only did it somehow not win the award, it was not even selected as the 2021/22 DStv Premiership Goal of the Season.

However, these goals were overlooked in favour of Mohamed Salah's relatively straightforward goal against Everton in a Premier League encounter for the 2018 FIFA Puskas Award.

Famously, Baroka FC goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke was nominated for the award after scoring the equaliser in the same vein deep into injury time against Orlando Pirates. He finished second in the voting after former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud for the award in 2017.
