FootballRoyal AM Chairman Andile Mpisane Fires Back at Haters With Cheeky Instagram Video After Kaizer Chiefs Cameo
- Andile Mpisane has been largely the subject of derision and humour in the last few days within local football circles
- Amid allegations of nepotism, the Royal AM chairman made a cameo appearance for the team against Kaizer Chiefs in the Macufe Cup
- Mpisane nonchalantly dusted off the proverbial dirt off his shoulder in response to the howls of laughter
Andile Mpisane couldn't be bothered by what the football public thinks of him.
Royal AM's chairman - and son of the club's owner Shauwn Mkhize - made what is now an infamous appearance for Thwihli Thwahla as a substitute in the Macufe Cup match against Kaizer Chiefs last Sunday.
The match took place at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein, which Royal won 4-2 on penalties after it ended in a 1-1 draw.
IOL reported that the football public's response to this remarkable moment in the match was largely negative, with 'nepotism' the centre of the derision and laughter that came Mpisane's way.

He even stepped up to receive the trophy during the post-match presentation, which did not help matters.
He responded to the noise with a video of him during his cameo, refuting claims that he didn't have an impact on the game by simply stating:
"He didn't touch the ball"
Earlier this month, Mpisane was an unused substitute as Royal AM was defeated by new KwaZulu-Natal rivals Richards Bay FC 1-0, in a DStv Premiership encounter at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban.
Even then, his appearance on the bench was the subject of humorous controversy, as reported in TimesLIVE.
MaMkhize considering taking Royal AM games to Bloemfontein following Celtic fan's protest at Macufe Cup
Shauwn Mkhize has displayed the skill of 'reading the room'.
MaMkhize is looking to have some Royal AM fixtures taken to the Free State as soon as possible. She bought out the cash-strapped Bloemfontein Celtic's Premier Soccer League status in 2021, which led to heartbreak and bitterness among Celtic's supporters in the city, the province and the country.
This reached a head last Sunday when die-hard supporters protested outside the Free State Stadium during Royal AM's Macufe Cup match against Kaizer Chiefs.
