Moses Simon Discloses Who To Blame for Super Eagles’ 2–1 Loss to Algeria

Moses Simon has criticized the match officials in charge of the Super Eagles game against Algeria on Tuesday night, 27 September, claiming that officiating is to be blamed.

Super Eagles of Nigeria were beaten 2-1 by Algeria in Oran in an international friendly encounter which saw the Desert Foxes coming back from a goal down to win the battle.

Despite netting the first goal in this tie in the 9th minute, the Super Eagles allowed the Algerians to find their rhythm in the second half and won the game.

Moses Simon and the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi were unable to break the defense of the Algerians in the tough encounter.

And according to the report on Daily Post, Moses Simon claimed after the match that the referee did not give the Super Eagles justice in the friendly against Algeria.

Moses Simon's reaction about defeat to Algeria

“Actually the game did not go the way we planned it. But it’s part of the job because we learn every day. And I believe we will pick a lot from it.
“We all know that the referee did not give us justice. But then the coach said we should forget about it and keep fighting. We just need to encourage and motivate ourselves because we play for pride, we play for our family and the Nigerian fans. I believe we did our best but it did not go as planned.”

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Nigerians have expressed their disappointment over the performance of goalkeeper Francis Uzoho during the international friendly encounter against Algeria on Tuesday night, 27 September.

Despite coach Jose Peseiro promising Nigerians that his wards would win the battle in Oran hours before kickoff, the Super Eagles were unable to soar against their opponents.

Players of the Super Eagles started the tie impressively, with the likes of Moses Simon and Moffi firing on all cylinders up front against the Algerians.

The breakthrough eventually came for the Super Eagles in the 9th minute when Terem Moffi opened scoring, which made Nigerian football fans happy.
