The United States of America is believed to be considering a bid of its own for the 2027 or 2031 event. The country last hosted the women's tournament back in 1999, which it won.

The 2026 men's world cup will be co-hosted by Canada, the US and Mexico. This will be 32 years after hosting the memorable 1994 event.
