  • Lewandowski's former agent Cezary Kucharski explained that the Barcelona striker is afraid to move to the English Premier League due to performance concerns hence his move to Spain
  • However, it appears Lewandowski could have actually played in the Premier League for Blackburn Rovers back in 2010, but his dream move was short-circuited by a natural disaster
  • The 34-year-old striker appears to be enjoying life at his new club Barcelona, scoring 11 goals in eight outings for the Blaugrana

Robert Lewandowski is a bona fide legend at Bayern Munich and is currently replicating his goal-scoring prowess at his new club Barcelona.

The Polish goal-wizard spent eight trophy-laden years at Bayern interlaced with a truckload of goals prior to his move to the Catalan giants this summer.

But before joining Borussia Dortmund in 2010, where he announced himself to the world as one of the deadliest strikers, the 34-year-old could have inked a deal with Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League.

The former Bayern and Dortmund marksman was going to travel to England to visit Blackburn's facilities, but then the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull erupted and stopped air traffic in Europe for several weeks.

As a result of that, Lewandowski did not get to tour Blackburn Rovers' facilities. "Did that change my life? Without a doubt, maybe if I had met Blackburn I would have stayed there," the Pole has said on occasion." Lewandowski said as quoted by MARCA.

Lewandowski claims it is easier to win the Ballon d'Or at Barcelona than at Bayern Munich

Earlier, Sports Brief reports that Robert Lewandowski claims he is more likely to win the Ballon d'Or as a Barcelona player than when he was featuring for Bayern Munich.

The 34-year-old joined the Blaugrana this summer in a deal worth €45million with an extra €5 million in add-ons following eight successful seasons with the German giants.

The Poland forward won 8 Bundesliga titles and one Champions League laurel, scoring an incredible 344 goals in 374 games.
