Relief As Impressive Super Eagles Midfielder Joins Japanese Club on Free Transfer

Nigerian international Mikel Agu will now be plying his trade in Japan after signing for top division club Shonan Bellmare.

The 29-year-old who joined on a free transfer signed a two-year deal with the club and he is delighted to be back in action.

The midfielder spent the better part of his career in Portugal as he began with Porto Youth teams in 2010 spending nine years before going on loan to Club Brugge, Vitoria Setubal, and Bursaspor.

Agu later settled to join Vitoria Guimaraes on a permanent deal and that was where he made name for himself and was even linked with a move to Nantes at some point.

With his move, Agu becomes the first Nigerian player ever at the club. They currently sit 14th on the J1 League table, two points away from relegation.

Ahmed Musa joins Turkish club Sivasspor

Meanwhile, Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa recently left Fatih Karagumruk to join Turkish Super Lig rivals Sivasspor on a two-year deal.

The Nigerian international, who spent one year with Karagumruk, decided to part ways by mutual consent in a bid to move to Sivasspor.

The red-whites signed the experienced player in a bid to bolster the squad before the UEFA Europa Conference League matches.

Rudiger sends message to injured Sadiq Umar

Sports Brief earlier reported that Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger has sent a heartwarming message of support to Real Sociedad forward Umar Sadiq.

The striker has been diagnosed with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee that will keep him out until the end of the season.

There have been messages of support for the former Almeria striker after he suffered the career-threatening injury and his former teammate, Rudiger, who he played with at AS Roma between 2015 and 2017, has not been left out.
