Bayern Munich defeated Barcelona 2-0 in the battle of the heavyweights in the UEFA Champions League Group C clash on Tuesday night.

Goals from France defender Lucas Hernandez and German winger Leroy Sane were enough to give the Bavarians all three points after the Catalans had dominated the first half.

With ten minutes to go, Sane was later replaced by youngster Mathys Tel but it drew a furious reaction from the former Manchester City forward.

In a video posted on Instagram, spotted by Sports Brief, Sane chucked a bottle on the ground and then stormed off to the bench.

"I wasn't angry about my substitution, Sane told Sport1 chief reporter Kerry Hau on smashing a bottle after he was subbed off:
"The bottle had to suffer a bit because I didn't play a good game. The goal was nice, but I wasn't entirely happy with my performance today"

It was a disappointing night Poland forward Robert Lewandowski as he got stage fright at his old playing grounds.

The 34-year-old missed a string of clear-cut chances against the Bundesliga giants - a club he netted an outstanding 344 goals for in 375 appearances.

It was Lewandowski's first game against Bayern as an opposition player since featured for Borussia Dortmund in 2014 before he started his incredible eight year stint in Munich.
