France striker Karim Benzema has emphatically ended the talks of his stunning return to France's 2022 World Cup squad ahead of the final.

Benzema was pictured at Madrid's training ground a few days ago and reports indicated he was given the green light by Real Madrid to return to Qatar.

Moreover, if France emerge victorious on Sunday to win their third trophy, Benzema will be in line for a winners’ medal.

Benzema quells rumours of Qatar return

The striker posted an emphatic message on Instagram. He posted a selfie on the platform with the caption that read;

"I'm not interested."

Deschamps avoided addressing a question about Benzema during a press conference in Qatar, per talkSPORT.

"I don't really want to answer that question. Next question."

The Madrid superstar returned to the French squad last year after a six-year absence. He had been a key figure for Les Bleus since making his debut in 2007.

However, his alleged highly-publicised scandal with teammate Mathieu Valbuena saw him sidelined from the national setup, per Goal.

Benzema moment with son

Sports Brief earlier reported on Benzema sharing a lovely moment with his son ahead of the World Cup final.

The Real Madrid superstar took to his social media accounts and shared a video of him hitting the gym alongside his son. He captioned the video 'motivation.'

Fans in the comment section were quick to ask him if he'd be available for the Sunday Lusail showdown but like his national manager, he is playing his cards close to his chest.
