Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has suggested that Arsenal need someone like Alex Iwobi right now as he urged the Nigerian international to return to the Emirates Stadium.
Iwobi dumped the Gunners in 2019 to join Premier League rivals Everton, but he initially failed to justify his £35m transfer fee under Carlo Ancelotti and Rafa Benitez.
However, he has improved under Frank Lampard as his form attracted Wright, who says he is pleased with the 26-year-old.
According to Wright, Arsenal supporters ridiculed the Nigerian the same way they did (Alex) Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Wright admitted that Iwobi is now a completely different player as he told Wrighty’s House podcast:
“I remember watching him play in midfield early days for Arsenal at West Ham, and you’re seeing something.
“His ball progression and work rate, what Frank has now recognised him and put him there, listen to the Everton fans when he’s doing his work, they are adoring him now. I’m loving the way it’s working out for Iwobi.
“I’m just talking about somebody who’s making a massive difference to what Everton need – the work rate, his ball progression, his passing, everything.
“He’s the pass before the assist, people don’t realise it. Everton fans are now starting to realise that if they get the right players in and around him, he’s going to be a force for them.

Meanwhile, Sports Brief earlier reported that Nigerian international Victor Osimhen is gradually becoming a cult hero in Naples following his impressive form for Serie A outfit Napoli.
The 23-year-old joined the Partenopeans from Ligue 1 side Lille in the summer of 2020 in a deal reported to be worth €50 million (£45m/$59m).
Osimhen has scored a total of 30 goals in all competitions since joining the club, including 18 goals last season.
