It is understood that the decision was coming and the new ownership led by Todd Boehly had made up their minds a long time ago that Tuchel was not fit for their project.
The Mirror now reports that Tuchel walked into Chelsea's training facilities at Cobham on Wednesday morning expecting a normal day. The former Paris Saint-Germain head coach did not expect to get the sack.
The report states that Tuchel was then asked into the conference room where he received a call from the Chelsea bosses. The Mirror understands that the call lasted 10 minutes.
Even more, interestingly, Tuchel is said to have begged to be given a second chance, but he was told that the decision had already been made. The 49-year-old was absolutely gutted as he packed his belongings and left.
This is, however, a contrasting version as Football London reported that the sacking was done face to face. Boehly and the other owner Beghdad Eghbali were present in Croatia when Chelsea were beaten by Dinamo Zagreb.
Either way, many fans have been left shocked that the manager who won the Champions League barely 15 months ago was sacked barely four weeks into the new season.

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Chelsea faithful worldwide and the football universe in general remains sharply divided following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel early on Wednesday morning, 7th September.
Chelsea's recent dip in form despite spending colossal amounts of money appeared not to sit well with the Todd Boehly-owned club.
Tuchel's 100th game in charge, a 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, was his last as the club announced it had parted ways with the German gaffer. Why would Boehly sack a manager who had proven himself at a high level? Why would Tuchel be sacked before being given adequate time to work on his new signings?
