Leipzig were beaten 4-1 by Shakhtar Donetsk in German, piling on more misery for Die Roten Bullen.

The defeat came on the back of Leipzig’s 4-0 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt over the weekend. Leipzig have endured a tough start to the season. They have played five games in the Bundesliga, winning just one, drawing two and losing two.

The club took to social media to announce the decision to part with the coach. Tedesco's assistant coaches also left the club.

Leipzig’s Managing Director Oliver Mintzlaff confirmed that the decision was not an easy one, the Bundesliga website reported.

“After a modest start to the Bundesliga season with five points from five games, and especially after the games with Eintracht Frankfurt and Shakhtar Donetsk, we lack the conviction that an immediate turnaround can come in the current setup,” Mintzlaff explained.

An interim manager has yet to be appointed by the German club.

Goalkeeper blunder costs RB Leipzig dearly as Shakhtar Donetsk earn a memorable win in Champions League opener

Peter Gulasci was the biggest villain for RB Leipzig as the Bundesliga giants were humiliated in front of their supporters by Shakhtar Donetsk on matchday 1 of the UEFA Champions League.

The Hungarian goalkeeper made a costly error that led to Shakhtar Donetsk’s first goal and the German side never recovered after that as they were thrashed 4-1 by the Ukrainians.

Shakhtar Donetsk striker, Marian Shved was handed the first goal when Gulacsi tried to be clever with the ball but gifted the striker to tap in from outside the box.
