  • Wardrobe malfunctions, especially in public, have become so common in sports, with professional athletes often found in unfamiliar territory
  • Venus Williams, the tennis legend, once showed up for a major open with an outfit that matched her skin colour, thus making her appear naked at a quick glance
  • More recently, an Italian athlete had to grapple with an embarrassing moment when his manhood kept popping out of his shorts

A video doing rounds on social media shows a football player losing his shorts in the middle of a game.

The player is involved in a fiery tussle for the ball with the opponent when his shorts slide off past his knee as he falls down.

To his credit, he gets up quickly, tries to readjust his shorts and, even more spectacularly, manages to retain the ball despite being handicapped temporarily.

Such incidences are common in sports. Some can be borderline embarrassing, while others can be funny. Sports Brief has compiled a list of some of the worst wardrobe malfunctions ever seen.
