Villarreal have yet to concede this season:

Video Assistant Referee dominates the headlines:

While the English Premier League had its controversy over the weekend, the Spanish league was also plagued by the problem. Atletico Madrid had a goal disallowed after Joao Felix was adjudged to have handled the ball.

They then had to watch Real Sociedad score an equalizer even though Umar Sadiq used his hand during the goal.

Barcelona’s impressive away record continues:

Barcelona have had their critics throughout Xavi’s reign as manager of the club. With the win over Sevilla, the Blaugrana continued their impressive away record. The Catalan side have not lost away from home since Xavi become the manager. They last lost at home in November 2021.

Race for the Golden Boot heats up:

It’s tight at the top of the goalscoring charts in La Liga.

Iago Aspas and Robert Lewandowski are tied at the top with five goals each. Real Betis’ Borja Iglesias currently has four goals. Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema is next on the list with three goals.

Valencia’s quickfire four goals:

Valencia scored five goals in their game against Getafe, but how quickly they scored those goals made headlines.

Samuel Lino scored Valencia’s second goal in the 14th minute before Samu Castillejo scored in the 16th minute.

Their fourth goal came in the 65th minute through Nico González, while their fifth goal came just three minutes after that when Hugo Duro scored.
