Sono announced that he had released the entire squad of 23 players from last season, creating a very fresh start for the new campaign. The new squad is made up entirely of under-23 players.

Sono added:

"It is not a new thing to release all the players. We used to do it most of the time. We want to compete for one season in the ABC Motsepe League. It won't be easy because most people say it's hell out there, but we are prepared and will see how it goes."

Another remarkable story involving the strong belief in witchcraft's influence on football has emerged.

This time, it was the turn of former Jomo Cosmos defender Mokete Tsotetsi to speak about his experiences with muthi - or juju - involving the club's founder, owner and coach, Sports Brief reported.

Tsotetsi, who also turned out in the colours of Kaizer Chiefs, reminisced a story involving Cosmos owner Jomo Sono.
