The Manchester United loanee has been in blistering form for the Hammers since he left the Old Trafford club.

Manchester City continued their unbeaten run in the Premier League after they narrowly beat West Ham United by 2-1 at the Etihad.

Two of City's center-back Ruben Dias and John Stones scored in each half of the game as Mikhail Antonio got the Hammers' only goal.

Jesse Lingard had another good game for West Ham as he was at the centre of everything they did going forward and got the assist for Antonio's goal.

Since making his debut for the club, Lingard who flopped at Manchester United has scored three goals for the Hammers and registered one assist.

After the game, he wrote: “We gave everything, felt like we deserved more but top team performance proud of the boys.”

Meanwhile, with the victory, Pep Guardiola has now picked up his 500th victory in charge of a top-flight side in all competitions.

Manchester City are next in action on Tuesday when they entertain Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

West Ham's exit from the FA Cup means they are spared a rearranged midweek game and now have a nine-day break before the host Leeds United on 8 March.

However, earlier reported that Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho may have been handed a three-match ultimatum to avoid being sacked by his employers.

The 58-year-old took over from former handler Mauricio Pochettino on November 20, 2019, but he doesn't seem to have the answer to Spurs' problems.

Although he has already guided them to the final of the EFL Cup where they will face red-hot Manchester City, but he might not oversee the game if his results in the league remain.
