There will inevitably be confrontations with your teammates both on and off the field when you spend so much time with them.

And that has unquestionably been the case with Sadio Mane and Leroy Sane after Bayern Munich's quarter-finals clash against Manchester City at the Etihad on Tuesday.

After the Bavarians suffered a 3-0 defeat to Pep Guardiola's side, reports started to circulate that Mnae and Sane engaged in a heated altercation in the locker room. That resulted in the Senegal international punching his German teammate.

Sports Brief looks at 5 more instances of colleagues fighting.

Emmanuel Adebayor vs Niklas Bendtner

Emmanuel Adebayor reportedly engaged in a brawl with Kolo Toure in 2011 during Manchester City's training match on the eve of their clash with their former club Arsenal.

The Togo legend had previously clashed with Nicklas Bendtner at Arsenal. Reports suggest that the Nigerian-born striker even headbutted the Dane.

Bendtner was then spotted with a cut on his nose and a blood-stained shirt, during a 5-1 defeat to Tottenham in the League Cup semi-final.

Franck Ribery vs Arjen Robben

The two wingers worked flawlessly together to harass opposing full-backs in the 2010s for Bayern Munich.

However, in 2012, following a dispute over who should take a free-kick in a Champions League semifinal match against Real Madrid, Robben and Ribery got into a fight at halftime.

The Dutchman allegedly received a punch from Ribery, although Bayern Munich declined to comment.

Oguchi Onyewu vs Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Ibrahimovic is known for getting physical with his teammates. At Ajax, he threatened to break Rafael van der Vaart's legs, and at Juventus, he punched Jonathan Zebina in the face.

But his most spectacular meltdown occurred at AC Milan, where he fought with Oguchi Onyewu, a former Newcastle United loanee.

“I head-butted him, and we flew at each other,” Ibrahimovic wrote in his autobiography.
“We wanted to tear each other limb from limb. It was brutal. We were rolling around, punching and kneeing each other. We were crazy and furious — it was like life and death.”

Lee Bowyer vs Kieron Dyer

During a Premier League match against Aston Villa, Dyer and Bowyer engaged in what is arguably the most famous altercation between teammates.

The two midfielders got into a heated argument at St. James' Park while their Newcastle team was down 3-0.

The brawl was only broken up by teammates and Villa players. Both received red cards for their actions and Graeme Souness, the manager of the Magpies at the time, later confessed that he had "never seen anything like it on a football pitch before."

Eoin Doyle vs Jermaine Beckford

Jermaine Beckford attacked his strike partner Eoin Doyle after he refused to pass the ball to him as Preston attempted to score a late equalizer against Sheffield Wednesday with 10 men on the field.

They were both dismissed. Preston were defeated 2-1. The fines imposed on the players were used to reimburse fans who travelled to Hillsborough to watch the match.
