Real Madrid midfielder, Toni Kroos has mocked former teammate and latest Manchester United midfielder, Casemiro, about playing in the Europa League.
The Brazilian midfielder sealed a shock move to the English Premier League giants after the Red Devils matched Los Blancos asking fee of €70.7 million.
According to Sportskeeda, Kroos, via his podcast, revealed he was surprised by Casemiro’s decision to swap playing in the UEFA Champions League for the Europa League.

“Casemiro? It was a surprise, the decision to do it surprised me. Switching Champions League for Europa League is a big difference.”
Toni Kroos and Casemiro played 237 games together for Real Madrid, winning four Champions League trophies and three La Liga titles, amongst other honours.
Toni Kroos admits winning away in La Liga is difficult
Meanwhile, Toni Kroos has admitted it is never easy to win away from home in the Spanish La Liga following the quality of opposing teams in Spain’s topflight SB Nation reports.
Kroos made the assertion after Real Madrid’s 3-1 away victory against Espanyol in Matchday 3 of the 2022/23 La Liga campaign, in which the midfielder was delighted with Los Blancos’ performance.
The victory helps Real Madrid maintain the top spot in the league with 9 points after 3 victories in their opening 3 games of the season.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Toni Kroos has been hailed as the best-ever German midfielder by Lothar Matthaus following his exploits with Real Madrid and the German national team.
Lothar Matthaus, who is also considered as a German legend revealed the 32-year-old Real Madrid midfielder’s exploits rank him higher than other midfielders to have played for Germany.
Matthaus believes the number of titles won by Toni Kroos makes him number one ahead of the likes of Mesut Ozil and Michael Ballack.
