Chelsea fans have hit out at Christian Pulisic over his conduct after the full-time whistle of their Premier League clash against Southampton on Tuesday night at St. Mary's.

Pulisic, who has been linked with a possible summer exit, started the match from the bench before he was introduced in the 66th minute in place of Kai Havertz.

However, his introduction made little to no impact as Thomas Tuchel's charges eventually lost the match.

Southampton were in good shape during the encounter, taking a 2-1 lead into the break after goals from Romeo Lavia and Adam Armstrong.

With the Blues trailing the hosts, Tuchel was forced to make tactical substitutions after the break, with Pulisic among those introduced after the interval.

With Chelsea on the losing end, Blues players took some time to appreciate the away end after the full-time whistle.

According to Metro UK, most Chelsea stars went over to thank the travelling fans for their support in the game, with a few apologising for the lacklustre performance.

However, Pulisic chose to walk straight down the tunnel without acknowledging the supporters.

The American's conduct prompted furious reactions from Chelsea fans who slammed Pulisic for 'disrespect.'

One said:

"Shameful. He hasn’t played well in two years."

A second added:

"Pulisic is clearly not part of the plans."

While another noted:

Christian Pulisic disappointed after Chelsea refuses to let him leave on loan

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Christian Pulisic's attempts to leave Chelsea this summer have been blocked by the club.

The winger is now set to remain at the club and fight for his place under Thomas Tuchel. Pulisic's role at the club was under scrutiny after the club bought Raheem Sterling from Manchester City.

He is yet to begin any games this season, with all of his appearances coming from the bench.
