- De Bruyne, now a star at City, took time to troll the magazine that called him a Chelsea flop
Kevin De Bruyne's rise to the top hasn't been easy. Like almost everyone else, he had to fight and work hard to prove he had the talent to make it in professional football at a top level.

But his Chelsea career didn't pan out as he had expected. He ended up making less than five appearances for the London side before he was sent out on loan to German sides Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg permanently.
He revitalized his career at Wolfsburg, helping them win the DFB-Pokal and DFL Super Cup in the 2014/2015 season. He was also voted the Bundesliga player of the season. At the height of Manchester City's spending in 2015, the Premier League side forked out close to 60 million euros to sign the Belgian.
It was a move that was greeted with scepticism from all over the football world. How could someone who failed to take off at Chelsea make it in England? Popular publication, The Mirror branded him the '60M reject' and wrote;

Well, that aged well. It is at Manchester City that De Bruyne has established himself as one of the best creative midfielders in history. He has four Premier League titles, among other domestic cups. He has also won two Player of the season awards.
And on the seventh anniversary of the famous headline by Mirror, De Bruyne took to Twitter to remind all and sundry that he had proven them wrong. The 31-year-old dropped some grinning emojis as if to say, who's laughing now?

Looks like De Bruyne is not the only one in the business of reminding people who he is. Previously, Sports Brief reported that Usain Bolt took to his Twitter account to remind the world that he is still the greatest sprinter the world has ever seen.
