Abdou Diallo has stated emphatically that his target and that of his teammates at the Senegalese national team is to reach the semifinal of the 2022 World Cup holding in Qatar.

Senegal as African champions will be leading four other nations to the 2022 World Cup which will start on November 20 to December 18 later this year.

In the history of the FIFA World Cup, no African nation has ever reached the semifinal even though Ghana tried to do so years back, but where stopped by Uruguay.

According to the report on Complete Sports, Abdou Diallo who plays for Paris Saint-Germain explained that the target is for Senegal to reach the last four in Qatar.

“Even though we can’t see the future, you have to be convinced that you definitely can achieve it.

“We also had a glass ceiling in the Nations Cup final and we broke it, so my dream is to break another one. If we manage to do that, I will be the happiest.
“There are no complexes. If we don’t make it, we don’t make it, but you have to accept that pressure because it means that we are doing a good job.”

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Nigerian international Anthony Nwakaeme could make a shock move to former Turkish champions Galatasaray.

Off the pitch, he could not agree with the club on new contract terms after it expired at the just concluded season.
