Former captain of the Black Stars Stephen Appiah has rubbished claims he is training to make a comeback to the national team ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Video of the ex-Ghana star training has gone viral on social media after his former Ghana teammate Asamoah Gyan declared his intentions of playing for the Black Stars again.

However, Appiah explained that the footage making rounds on Twitter was a shoot for an advert.

"This was an advert I shot in Thailand for Vitamilk oooo.... Retired 10 years ago and I am not turning back. Just ignore any such news," he posted on Twitter with the video making rounds.

Stephen Appiah retired from football ten years ago with a befitting testimonial game played in his honour.

The 41-year-old played for several clubs in Europe including Juventus, Fenerbache and FK Vojvodina.
